The University of Finance and Management in Warsaw is changing its name to the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw.Progress is a way of life and even desirable in the world of science. We strive for it with small, but persistent steps. The change that UFM will soon undergo is the result of continuous reputation building, quality, and scientific impact through the years of its existence. On September 30, 2018, we are starting the next stage of an academic adventure - now as the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw.
In 2017 the Faculty of Law and Administration, in recognition of high scientific quality, obtained permission for granting the PhD title, joining the Faculty of Psychology which had obtained such permission earlier. Both of these qualifications mean that the UFM has reached the next rung in the hierarchy of universities. Our new name better reflects the university's focus. UFM started in 2000 as an economic higher education institution. Now, after years of developing, we are also a strong academic center in the field of law and psychology. The constantly increasing pike of the UFM in higher education rankings proves this – says Maia Sierpińska Ph.D. – the Rector of UFM. However, the best proof of our high scientific quality is the trust that students – both from Poland and from around the world give us. From the very beginning, UFM promoted multicultural openness and international cooperation as a great value in science. We are proud that our graduates are making their professional careers in companies and scientific institutions all over the world. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the university’s success so far. Their enthusiasm, creativity, and hard work made all this possible. We hope that our future plans and projects, as the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw will drive even more progress and scientific quality for the benefit of the entire academic community.
